hummingbird
glib
sun
hummingbird,
if you vanish into a vortex
wherein the dibbler dines
on petals of dissolved earth,
grounded beneath childhood pines
and a navy blue neckerchief of sky …
o nimble membrane,
will not the waiter leave you jostling
with grains of sugar on an
inland sea of chilly plastic,
sticky on the damp octagonal table,
till he has his own restaurant?
